The Atlantic Cod

This first in the Fish and Whale series

This painting of the Atlantic Cod was inspired by a trip to Prince Edward Island on the Atlantic Coast of Canada where lobster were being harvested by the millions, everywhere the cod had been fished to near extinction. It became the first in a unique Fish and Whale series. Within different fish and whales are woven historical and environmental tales.

Pam has been living on the west coast of B.C. and Washington since she was a teenager so it was natural that the fish and whales soon started representing and telling the stories of the region.
